Welcome to the Upper Delaware River Valley and the Catskills of Sullivan County, New York!
Q: Where are the photos and listings of the properties you are selling?
Isn't this
a Sullivan County, New York / Upper Delaware River real estate website?
A:Yes it is!
However, before you begin your search for a home in our area,
the person you choose to assist you is important.
In my opinion, a good agent listens well, knows the area and inventory of properties, returns calls and e-mails promptly
and has a solid background in the community.
You might ask yourself: "Why should I work with five different agencies with different people in different locations when it might be
more efficient to communicate with just one person - who has access to the same listings as those five?"
That's a very good question - and thanks to the internet and the Sullivan County Multiple Listing
Service - I have access to every listing that all the other agents have. Take
a look!
My name is Tony Ritter - an Associate Broker at Preferred Homes and Properties
of
Youngsville, New York. We belong to the Sullivan County MLS and have access to thousands of
listings which are updated daily.
I hope you'll get to know me through the following articles and brief biography listed below.
If you have any questions please feel free to send me an e-mail and I'll get right back to
you.

HOMES & PROPERTIES
I have been fortunate to have lived with my wife, Linda Slocum, in the
riverfront village of
Narrowsburg, New York for the past twenty years. During
the past ten years, as a New York State licensed guide, I have operated a
driftboat
fishing guide service on the beautiful
Upper Delaware River.
There is also a daily on-line journal of our fishing adventures on the Upper Delaware River
as well at:
www.delawareriverfishing.com
The Upper Delaware River is blessed with a variety of wildlife and nature - bald eagles, crystal clear rivers and lakes, wild trout - along with unspoiled vistas that are graced with hardwoods and evergreens.
Throughout my many years of guiding and introducing people to the beauty of our area, I have found that is very important to preserve and enhance the attributes and natural beauty of the Upper Delaware River and Catskills.
It has been an honor to serve as chairman of my town's Zoning Board of
Appeals since 1996 along with being a member
of the following organizations devoted to the conservation and / or promotion of
the wonderful resources in our area:
I have designed and also maintain our town's website and the chamber's website.
In 1996, I received the Recreational Achievement Award from the Upper Delaware Council and from 1997 through 2000, I wrote a weekly fishing column for the Middletown, New York Times Herald Record called "The Guide to Where They're Biting" which featured reports, photography and commentary from fourteen tackle shops throughout the Catskill - Pocono region.
However, I'm originally from the city - born and bred in the Big Apple. After college, I spent close to fifteen years working in commercial art as a package designer and then in graphics for many publications at Conde Nast.
On one hot muggy weekend, we packed our bags, rented a car and left the soot, sirens and subways behind in search of a better life in upstate New York answering an ad we saw in a local newspaper.
The Upper Delaware River region is only two hours from the metro New York area but offers the visitor value, beauty, recreation and proximity that is not matched by others areas in the northeast.
Whether fly-fishing for wild rainbow trout, eagle watching, cross-country skiing, mountain biking or just relaxing - you'll find the Sullivan County Catskills and the Upper Delaware River region a treasure for you and yours to enjoy.
During my years on the river, many of my customers are amazed at the beauty of our area. So much so, that they come back to fish year after year.
And...some even love the area so much that they purchase property up here!
To give you a taste of how beautiful this area is, I've put together
a portfolio of images taken by my wife Linda.
